Your Questions, Our Answers

What are persons with reduced mobility?

Persons with reduced mobility are those who are obviously are not able to walk between the Main Market Square in the center of the Old Town and one of the bus parking areas on the edge of the Old Town. Specificially, this means visitors and guests who are wheelchair users or have a disability that makes walking difficult and are therefore not able to walk to such parking areas.

The Nuremberg Old Town still retains its medieval footprint and therefore has very narrow streets. Within the Old Town, there is no place which permits a large number of tourist busses to allow guests to be dropped off or picked up. At the edge of the Old Town, at Vestnertorgraben and Grasersgasse, there are short-term parking areas from which guests can reach all of the important tourist sights in Nuremberg’s Old Town within a 15-minute walk.

Vestnertorgraben and Grasersgasse are available for short-term parking. A brochure from the Nuremberg Convention and Tourist Office provides detailed information.
